Our History
The Litebook Company Ltd. was incorporated in 1999 to launch The Litebook—a leading-edge light therapy device that employs white Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology for treatment of a variety of light-deprived conditions including Winter Blues.

The LitebookŪ Elite™ was designed to offer enhanced performance and convenience to a market that was dissatisfied with the large and cumbersome fluorescent-light based products. Larry Pederson recruited a Scientific Advisory Board and worked with development engineers and optical specialists to create The Litebook®.

Our Future
It has been said that today we live in a light-deprived world, and that we are paying for it with our health. It is estimated that up to 30% of North Americans suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or the Winter Blues – with similar percentages in Europe. Millions more suffer from disruptions of their circadian rhythms due to shift work, jet lag, and various sleep disorders, as well as maladies like the ‘Body Blues’.

The Litebook Company is dedicated to change all of that, as our products can and do provide real relief from light-deprivation helping improve the quality of life of people just like you. In fact, our company founder is no stranger to SAD and light issues. His own experience with SAD motivated him to develop a more convenient and effective solution to combat the problem of winter blues. We are proud to have developed the world’s first portable LED light-therapy device that has been sold in more than 50 countries and we continue to strive to provide consumers with a safe and effective solution to help them feel better so they can enjoy life more.
